Windows and Doors

What is the process when installing windows and doors?

From initial contact you will receive a visit from us to provide you with a full survey and quotation for works. In your initial meeting, measurements will be taken and advice given regarding recommended products based on your specific requirements. You will receive your quote in writing within 2 working days.

When you decide to proceed, a mutually convenient date of installation will be given. Please be advised that some windows and doors can take up to three weeks to be delivered as they are bespoke and made specifically for your requirements.

When we arrive at the property, the area will be covered and protected from any damage caused by the work. The existing glass will be removed safely and the window frame will be cut out to prepare the area for the new window. From this, the new cill will be attached to the brickwork before the installation of the new window frame. The window frame is sealed internally with silicone and window trims. The glazed sealed units are installed next using glazing beads to clip and secure into place. Finally the windows will be sealed externally by a silicone dual seal and further trim. Once the windows are completed the area will be left clean and tidy.

How long does it take from initial consultation to installation of window/doors?

Following your decision to proceed with the installation of your windows and/or doors an order will be placed with our supplier and, on average, the installation will take place 3-4 weeks from that date. This timescale may vary depending on product availability but you will be informed of this at the time.

How should I prepare my house for window or door installation?

The majority of the work will take place internally so the area surrounding the window or door should be as clear as possible. Anything on the window cills or hanging blinds should be removed and where possible curtains should be tied back. We will ensure that all working areas are left clean, tidy and as we found them when the window is installed.

What guarantees and warranties do you offer?

All of our products carry a 10-year manufacturers’ warranty on frame defects and discolouration, a five year warranty on condensation or any obscurities in our glass sealed units and a one year warranty on hardware i.e. handles, hinges and locking mechanisms. In addition to this we are extremely proud to be part of ‘The Consumer Protection Association’ to offer a 10 year insurance back guarantee.

What are the benefits of UPVC windows and doors?

  • Cost-effective
  • Low maintenance
  • Weatherproof
  • Highly energy efficient
  • Doesn’t rot or decompose

What is the difference between UPVC doors and Composite doors?

A composite door is a timber, solid core wrapped in UPVC externally, thus making it stronger and more robust. A UPVC door is made entirely of plastic with steel reinforcing.

Do you offer both double and triple glazing?

Yes we offer both.

What are the benefits of using triple glazing?

Triple glazing is three separate panes of glass inside a gas filled vacuum sealed unit. Triple glazing can improve the 'U' value and acoustic properties of windows and can also help to get rid of cold spots in an otherwise well-heated house. Triple glazing offers a significant reduction in noise pollution – so it is ideal for those living in noisy areas.
